Diploma of Minerals Processing


The Certificate Provides Competency-Based Training and Assessment

The Diploma of Surface Minerals Processing (RII50315) if offered by MINRES through a Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Double Diploma option only. The training plan has been aligned to minimum industry requirements and additionally compliments the Diploma of Surface Operations Management.  The Double Diploma is contextualised to both coal and metalliferous operations and meets Recognised Standard 22 (RS22) Requirements.  For more information about eligibility, unit selection, delivery schedule (if applicable) and finally cost, please submit an enquiry form.

Target Audience

This qualification reflects the role of metal or coal processing facility managers who perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills and implement mine management plans.

Duration and Delivery

The duration of this course is 6 – 12 months depending on the candidates’ experience.

The course is delivered via the following:

  • Self-paced online study

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 16

  • 8 core units, plus
  • 8 elective units, of which:
    • at least six (6) must be chosen from the electives
    • no more than two (2) may be from elsewhere in this or any other endorsed training packages or from an accredited course.
