The Certificate Provides Competency-Based Training and Assessment
Target Audience
This course specifically targets persons working at a Queensland Coal mine who are required to maintain currency in the following areas:
- Standard 11:
- Surface Induction
- Underground Induction
- G2 Risk Facilitator Course
- Other Regulated Activities (See Electives)
- Verification of Competency (VOC)
Duration and Delivery
The duration of this course is 3-15 days depending on the candidates’ experience.
The course is delivered via the following:
- Face to face ONSITE
- Self-paced online study
- On-demand Personal Trainer
- Recognition of Prior Learning
- Credit Transfer
Persons who participate in this training activity can meet all nominated refresher requirements in one activity.
Employers who participate in this training activity can ensure continuous compliance with refresher requirements in one activity. Don’t worry about expired training again until your SHMS requires you to renew a unit of competency/qualification OR you receive a notification from MINRES….whichever comes first!

Packaging Rules
Total number of units = 9
- 4 core units, plus
- 5 elective units, of which:
- at least one (1) must be from Group A
- at least two (2) must be from Group B
- no more than two (2) may be from Group C
- no more than two (2) may be from elsewhere
