The Certificate Provides Competency-Based Training and Assessment

The Certificate II in Resources & Infrastructure Work Preparation is especially suited for new participants preparing to enter the building and construction sectors.  Persons interested in enrolling into this course should first contact their Australian Apprentice Support Network Provider to ascertain what support might be available.  Program availability is subject to change at any time.

Target Audience

This qualification reflects the roles of individuals working in the resources and infrastructure industries who perform mainly routine tasks and procedures, using limited practical skills and fundamental operational knowledge, and taking some responsibility for the quality of the work outcomes.

This is a pathway qualification that prepares individuals to successfully undertake a sector-specified Certificate III from the RII Resources and Infrastructure Industry Training Package.

Duration and Delivery

The duration of this course is 6-12 months depending on the candidates’ experience.

The course is delivered via the following:

  • Face to face ONSITE
  • On-demand Personal Trainer

Packaging Rules

Total number of units = 9

  • 4 core units, plus
  • 5 elective units, of which:
    • at least three (3) must be from Group A
    • no more than two (2) may be from Group B
    • no more than one (1) may be from elsewhere
